How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung and LG Smart TVs in the USA

From Sunday NFL to Monday-night hoops, you want everything working fast and without fuss. Samsung and LG Smart TVs don't run Android apps, so your IPTV player comes from the TV's own app store. Here is the setup with IBO Player or Hot Player, from installing the app to your first channel.

What you need

A Samsung Smart TV (Tizen) or an LG Smart TV (webOS), connected to the internet
Your M3U URL or Xtream Codes, sent to you when you order or start a free trial
A phone or computer to enter your details on the player's website, which is easier than typing on the TV

Step 1: Install a player

Open the Samsung Smart Hub or the LG Content Store, search for IBO Player or Hot Player and install it. Availability depends on your TV's model and year, so if one isn't listed, try the other.

Step 2: Note your device details

Launch the app. IBO Player shows a MAC address and a device key on screen: write them down exactly. In Hot Player, choose Add playlist to get started.

Step 3: Add your playlist

IBO Player: on the IBO Player website, sign in with your MAC address and device key, choose Add playlist and enter your M3U URL (or Xtream Codes).

Hot Player: choose Xtream Codes or M3U URL, enter the details we sent you and save.

Step 4: Restart the app and watch

Close and reopen the app, wait for the channel list to sync and pick a channel.

Troubleshooting

The playlist doesn't appear: restart the app and check that the MAC address and device key were typed exactly.
Channels don't load: copy and paste the URL, username and password from our message instead of typing them.
Buffering: a TV's Wi-Fi is often weaker than a phone's. Use Ethernet if you can, and see our buffering guide.

A note about player apps

IBO Player and Hot Player may offer a free trial and then ask for a one-time activation or licence fee, paid to the app developer and not to us.
